Moms need to stay healthy and fit, not only for themselves but also to set the right example for their kids. Stroller Strides is a fun, stroller-based exercise program that helps mothers to shed weight, get fit and bond with their babies as well. Designed by Lisa Druxman, a mom and a fitness professional, the Stroller Strides program is perfect for busy moms who want to lose weight but lack a support system for the baby. A total fitness program, Stroller Strides classes are led by certified instructors and have plenty of songs and activities to make the exercise class fun for both mom and baby.
Stroller Strides Makes Weight Loss Fun for Moms
I got the chance to review the exercise videos, and it was so much fun. The programs make good use of plenty of music, fresh air and natural environment and resistance tubing. The classes, I’m sure, will be a great place to connect with other moms, swap weight loss tips and get a great workout while spending time with baby as well. An exercise-based weight loss program is always a sure way of losing pounds and inches. In fact, Stroller Strides also makes a great weight loss support group for moms since the entire group of participants and instructors are mothers!
The Stroller Strides Program Encourages Healthy Eating Habits
As part of the weight loss and exercise program, Stroller Strides gives moms a helpful booklet filled with healthy eating tips, recipes, ideas and even a journal. Healthy eating and balanced meals are key to sensible weight loss, and as moms, healthy eating habits are a must for our families as well. Lisa Druxman has also authored Lean Mommy that offers the Stroller Stride exercise and diet plan for new moms to get back into shape.
I also had the opportunity to interview Lisa and get first-hand information on this hugely successful exercise and weight management program that gives moms a chance to lose weight, connect with other moms and spend time with their babies.
UTH: Thank you so much Lisa for taking out time for talking to Untrained Housewife and its readers. Let us begin by understanding the idea behind Stroller Strides. What is it all about?
Stroller Strides is fitness for mom and fun for baby. It is a stroller based workout program where moms get a total body workout while out with their stroller. The classes are led by certified instructors, and they also incorporate fun activities for the babies.
UTH: How were you motivated to start something so innovative and useful?
I was working out with my baby and came up with the idea. As a fitness professional, I knew how to get back in shape. But I needed support and connection with other moms. I decided to create a class where we could have it all.
UTH: How can parents benefit the most from Stroller Strides?
Of course, they get in great shape. But they also make great new friends and gain support as new moms.
UTH: Is Stroller Strides age-specific or can moms of children of all ages use it? Are there any aspects that a parent must be aware of before using it?
Stroller Strides is for moms with babies 6 weeks through stroller age. You will see many newborns and many preschoolers at class.
UTH: What tips and suggestions do you have specifically for parents of toddlers and preschoolers to create a healthy lifestyle?
Be a model mom. What we won’t do for ourselves we will do for our children. Stay away from processed foods now and get your little ones used to eating a variety of whole foods. Be an active, healthy living family right from the start. Even if you don’t have time for a traditional workout, you can do some core work and push ups on the floor in the playroom, a stroller walk, etc.
Losing weight gets tough when you’re a new mom and have a baby to take care of. The Stroller Strides fitness program is a great way for moms to get back in shape, lose weight, connect with other moms all the while spending a fun one hour with their infant or toddler.
