A gardener needs good tools to work effectively. I know for myself, I can keep going as long as I’m not cold. Once I get cold, I’m done. And the worst offenders are my ears and my hands.
A beanie cap takes care of my ears nicely, but my hands are harder to please in the garden. Most of the gloves around the ranch are all-leather and stiff to use, or too bulky for when I’m trying to plant seedlings.
I was excited, but skeptical, when I had the chance to review a pair of Fields & Lane gardening gloves. I got a pair of Forester Women’s Gloves and they are by far the most comfortable gloves for gardening I’ve tried yet.
They are made of goat’s leather, which doesn’t stain, dry or crack after getting wet. Additionally, these Forester gloves have a flexible inset in the back, which allows for really nice flexibility without having to make the gloves bulky. And these washable gloves are sourced and tanned right here in the United States.
The lining is soft and oh-so-warm but the biggest selling feature for me is the streamlined flexibility of the gloves. If they are half as durable as they are comfortable I’m going to be in great shape this season.
It’s important to have the right tools for the right job and these gloves will make the job easier for any outdoor chores.

I love my mini shears that I cut Jalepenos off with and a small rake… Those are the 2 things you always see in my garden

I have no idea what it’s called my I have to have my gardening stool. It’s a molded plastic stool with a round bottom so I can lean in every direction when I’m gardening!

With my rock-filled heavy clay soil my most essential tool is somewhere between a hoe and a pick-ax. Without it nothing would get weeded or even planted in the first place!

I am starting to get the itch, and I told myself that this year I would spend real money and get good gardening gloves…or hopefully win some! 🙂 Love gardening but my hands do not! I have to say my must haves are a small wheel barrel that my kids can push, because they help in the garden and a huge collapsible wagon that I can unload dirt and mulch easier.

I love my little mini claw. I could play in the dirt all day with it. Oh, and it really helps, too 😉

I use a sturdy garden rake a lot because of the groundcover that is always trying to creep in.

I can’t do without the hoe. I use it to make garden rows and to dig up/cut up weeds! 🙂
