Not a lot of people give much thought to emergency preparedness. We are so comforted with just being going through every day with our work and at home, or at school. We are comfortable with what we know, with our daily routines. Then before we know it, disaster happens and there’s nothing much more we can do about it because it’s already too late. Please, don’t let this happen to you and your family. Be aware and know what you need to do when disaster strikes. Here is a video produced by Ready.gov that you need watch. It is very moving and will help you realize the importance of having a PLAN in case of emergency. You never want to be in the situation of saying, “I don’t know what to do!”
It is important to involve your entire family so they will know what you do. Call a family meeting and make a plan. You also have to invest and have an emergency preparedness kit in your home, whether you have a family or living on your own.
No one knows when disasters happen. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, and at any time. It is helpful to know what disasters are prone in your area. Learn what you should do when it happens and when family members are not all together. Plan things like where you should evacuated and how to establish an emergency communication system. Knowledge and preparedness is very valuable because it can save lives and to avoid panicking. Don’t take it for granted.
