Tired of using blankets and sitting in awkward positions as you nurse your baby in public or private? Weary of fumbling around trying to keep yourself covered as your hungry infant cries? The Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover is a perfect solution. Super-stylish and functional, Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover and Burp Cloths are what you never knew you needed but absolutely have to have!
I was very excited to try out the Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover and Burp Cloth Set. I’d been eying their nursing covers for some time, so I was eager to see if they held up to the hype. After using blankets or large burp cloths to cover myself during feedings, this nursing cover was a welcome change. The nursing covers can be purchased alone, but my cover was paired in a gift set with three pretty burp cloths. This makes a great gift for an expectant mom or just a treat for yourself!
Features of the Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover
The nursing cover is made out of 100% cotton fabric and has a curved, rigid neckline that allows you to see your baby as you prep for a nursing session. The neck is easily adjustable so you can match it to a comfortable height level for privacy. It also has terry-cloth pockets stitched on the underside to store nursing pads or pacifiers. Bebe Au Lait covers come in a variety of stylish fabrics. I received my items in the Marmont style, a pretty swirl of what looked to be blue butterflies in various shades.
Uses for the Bebe Au Lait Nursing Covers and Burp Cloths
Nursing covers are great for moms who don’t feel completely comfortable feeding their baby in public without guaranteed privacy (I’m one of them!). The design of the Bebe Au Lait covers makes it easy to store in your diaper bag and nurse your baby whenever need arises. Even if you don’t want to nurse in public, you can just use it at home to hide the view from your family or small toddlers who are a bit too interested in where baby sister gets her milk! I was also interested to learn that it’s convenient to use when pumping at work. Other uses listed on the website are as a blanket or sunshade, neither of which I tried.
Obviously, we know what burp cloths are for but what I liked about these cloths was that they were made of terry cloth fabric, making them very soft and gentle on my baby’s face. The strip of fabric across the top which matched the nursing cover seemed more for aesthetic purposes than anything.
My Experience with the Bebe Au Lait Burp Cloths and Nursing Cover
My nursing cover definitely met and exceeded my expectations. It has great coverage, and after adjusting the neck strap I have a comfortable view of baby, good for making sure she’s latched on correctly. I definitely feel more comfortable nursing in semi-public settings, the church nursery and even in my own home. It took me awhile to figure out how to get the cover into my diaper bag, thinking I was going to break the rigid part of the neckline, but I found out it was flexible enough to fit.
I appreciated the softness of the burp cloths (they were softer after washing) and the fact that they are thicker than others I have used. The price was reasonable considering the quality of the items. Overall, the set is practical, stylish and very handy to have as a new or experienced mother!
Bebe Au Lait Nursing Covers and Burp Cloths can be purchased online at the Bebe Au Lait website or at specialty shops nationwide. The company also sells quality bibs, towels and Hooter Hiders brand nursing covers. Gift cards are also available for purchase for the new mom on your list. In my opinion, it’s a perfect and unique Christmas gift!
