I know I’ve been absentee. It’s ok. It’s completely understandable. Besides the fact the in the last two weeks there has never been a day that some child or another hasn’t been sick (what is it about going on vacations and getting sick???) and that mom was gone all last week (Once a year CM flies all the top-level leader’s out to a Strategic Planning Meeting to discuss top-secret info on CM and how it’s doing and what needs to be improved, etc. Smart of them to ask these gals what’s going on….an incredibly bright and savvy group of ladies.)
Well mom gots back late last Sunday night…..Sid was out this weekend…..(YEAH!) so he got to see the church we chose, get fitted for a tux, see the flower arrangements, bridesmaid dresses material, etc.etc…..all the wedding stuff he’s been missing out on.
Mom has this new stuff she wants to implement by the 1st for this new incentive coming out so we stayed up somewhat late working on that. Then Monday am there’s a message that her nephew (35 yrs old father of four) has died in a motorcycle accident and that his youngest (6 yrs) was severely injured. This is Aunt Diana’s only son so she’s a wreck (unsaved) and Joey has almost been a brother to my Uncle Steve so HE was pretty stressed out too….so Monday was a mad scramble of airplane ticvkts, unpacking the suitcase into the washa nd back into the suitcase, canceling CM events mom already had scheduled, etc. I was up until 3am (!) taking care of stuff. I left some unfinished becuase I simply couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer….I figured I’d finish the next afternoon (after sleeping in of course)….I was ALREADY way lacking on sleep at this point.
My cell went off at 8am the next morning and when I answered it was one of my babysitting clients for whom I was supposed to be babysitting….and um yeah….I was supposed to be there at 8. YIKES!
If I had remember that the next day was Tuesday I probably would have made it ok. But I didn’t. So I didn’t even set my alarm. So yeah…..I got about a total of 15 hours sleep for the entire WEEKEND! (Thursday night to Tuesday morning)
And of course, today is Wednesday morning early, early and even though I went to bed by 11pm I’m now up at 3:30 am. Guess my body isn’t used to that much sleep all at once!! *shakes head* Pathetic.
Oh yeah, the other thing was that Kyle hurt his foot and had to be taken to the doctors. He wasn’t acting like he was in pain at all but he wouldn’t walk on it……AT ALL….crawl, climb….everything his usual cheerful energetic self (after he got over his cold) but as far as putting his FOOT down and walking….nope. Had us worried. Especially after the first doctor said he wasn’t sure and recommended us to an orthopedic surgeon. I think he was trying to CYA becuase the second doc said he thought it was just a sprain, no sign of fracture or anything so just to keep an eye on it and come back in a few weeks if it didn’t get better.
Stretching it and working some of the trigger points in his leg seemed to have really helped so I’ll have to work his leg over a little more thoroughly tomorrow….or today rather….once I woke up for the second time.
Sheesh….I’m allergic to high doses of sleep….this is what college does to you. You might be SMARTER but it makes you INSANE! *laughing* As if I needed any help.
If the lack of sleep showing yet?
*grin*

“Is the lack of sleep showing yet?”
Uh…yeah.
Take better care of yourself, hun. Repeat after me, “I’m not in college anymore. I’m not in college anymore. I’m not in college anymore…”

They say that after 72 consecutive hours (or somewhere thereabouts) without sleep you’re considered clinically insane.
I wonder how many nights of not getting enough sleep it takes to drive someone insane…? Most of my fellow students have reached that point already, though, so I don’t have any test subjects.
I’ll stop talking now, before I start making you worry.
