Ragu is sponsoring a conversation about dinner time that I just could not resist. Describe your dinner in one word. Well – one word – sheesh. I’m not very good at censoring myself to a single word, however, the word that immediately sprang to mind for me was “laughter.”

It may sound corny to you – but the truth is with four children at our little round table there is always something worth laughing at going on. Seriously.
If the littlest one isn’t stealing food from his siblings with his newly-stretchable arms (2 inches taller in a month and a half), my daughter is babbling constantly and half-incoherantly (leading her father to pronounce her identical to her mother. Thanks honey!) or the oldest son is laughing hysterically at something my third born is doing. He’s rather the class-clown of the family and knows how to get the others riled up. In a good way.
We are blessed to be able to have dinner together as a family almost every night. My husband doesn’t leave for work until after the table has been cleared and the kids changed into PJ’s. So that family time is so precious to us.
I pray that when my children are grown and look back on their childhood they will remember the laughter. And the tears their mother wept while trying not to spit out her food because she was laughing until she cried.
Laughter.
