This family owned company specializes in signature truffles made from a secret family recipe. After tasting their luscious truffles I can tell you that this chocolate is irresistible!
Secret Recipe Truffles from 5th Avenue Chocolatiere
I was so thrilled to find a box of chocolates in my mailbox one afternoon (who wouldn’t be?) from 5th Avenue Chocolatiere. My decadent truffles came in a lovely, reusable wooden box with a gold tie, which would have been in perfect condition for gift-giving except for the fact that I didn’t want to share!
As I sampled my treat, I read that this family owned company has been making chocolates for 35 years and its founder Joseph Whaley perfected a truffle recipe that has made the company world-famous. Their products are made from all-natural ingredients with no saturated or trans fats or hydrogenated oils. Pure cream and butter are the hallmark of this company’s secret recipe.
The truffles I sampled had great presentation and an amazing taste, so rich and creamy that they honestly melted in my mouth. I found it was fun to eat them both cold and straight from the refrigerator and also to let them come to room temperature to allow for the melting sensation. The light dusting of cocoa powder that surrounded the chocolate was the ultimate perfect touch. Even my husband, who is not a “truffle” guy, really wanted a taste. I had to put the box back in the fridge immediately so I didn’t eat them all at once!
5th Avenue Chocolatiere’s Specialty Products
Besides 5th Avenue Chocolatiere’s signature truffles, they also sell a huge variety of chocolates both in assortment boxes and molded to make some very clever things. These products can be viewed at the company’s website, www.1800chocolate.net. On this site, you can browse by price, type, occasion or, at this time of year, holiday to find the best gift ideas for your loved ones. FYI, their chocolates are kosher.
You can order a full catalog on the website and while flipping through the one that came with my truffles, I found ingenious gift ideas poured into thousands of different molds, from traditional Valentine’s Day hearts and Christmas trees to animals, sports balls, vehicles, baby booties and even a telephone! My favorite was the Thanksgiving cornucopia, adorned with chocolate covered strawberries.
The Whaley family also uses chocolate to creatively teach math and the history of chocolate at their new factory in Valley Stream, New York. The give tours and host book club parties and children’s birthday parties! Doesn’t that sound like a great place to get together with friends?
Whatever you’re craving in the way of chocolate, 5th Avenue Chocolatiere definitely has what you’re looking for. Whether you are shopping for Christmas or another holiday during the year, or simply looking to treat yourself, specialty chocolate is sure to please!
As for my truffles….well, I never ended up sharing them. Even with my husband.
