Recently, the glass in one of my pictures frames got broken. You wouldn’t think it would be hard to replace a piece of 10×13 glass, but I just couldn’t find a sheet to fit my frame. I even had the poor luck of not finding a new frame in the right size when I went to my craft store. At some point it became a “principle of the matter” situation. I put my stubborn pants on and decided to get creative.
I had the materials at home, so I will fix it myself! Usually famous last words, but this time turned out pretty spiffy.
I used the floating style frame that has the detachable side pieces:
Using the back piece as a template and my handy craft guillotine (they are fabulous!), I cut two pieces of cardboard. The cardboard I used was about the thickness of the cardstock used in photo matting. If you are using thicker board you won’t need as many pieces.
Now you are ready for your “glass”
Yep, cling wrap is not just for your leftovers! So wrap this around your picture and press the edge pieces over, smooth out the air bubbles along the way.
Now it can go back on the wall!
