As part of my Ultimate Organic Makeup and Skin Care Shopping Guide I was sent some Organic Wear makeup to review from Physicians Formula. I received the Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer, the Organic Wear CC Cream (Color Correcting Cream), and the Organic Wear Mascara which I was very excited to get since it can be really hard to find organic mascara.

Organic Wear Foundations and Skin Correcting Creams
In this first video I review the two skin care color items I received from Physicians Formula – First the Tinted Moisturizer, and then the CC Cream.

The Organic Wear Tinted Moisturizer – 100% natural ingredients and 80% organic ingredients. This is a very light coverage tinted moisturizer with an SPF 15 rating. This is something I will probably use as a daily moisturizer in the mornings.
The label says “fragrance free” but I found that the organic fruit waters gives it a slightly astringent fragrance when you first apply it. There are four shades so some skin tones might have trouble matching but the coverage is sheer enough you could blend it or apply your usual foundation over if desired.
The Organic Wear CC Cream – One of the only CC Creams I could find with 100% natural ingredients and 70% certified organic ingredients. The SPF rating for this product is SPF20 so it will give more protection for those who are outside. This formulation is also gluten-free for those with sensitivities!
Physicians Formula Organic Wear Mascara Review

I was so pleased to find a “regular” mascara that was also all natural with organic ingredients. This mascara was 100% natural ingredients and 70% certified organic and the entire package and mascara is eco-friendly, recyclable packaging. The Organic Wear Mascara is more nourishing and beneficial to my lashes than the _______ (cheap store brand) mascara I would usually just grab off the shelf.
One thing I noticed that you should be aware of is that the mascara has natural waxes and oils – it takes an extra coat to get a full coverage and it takes the mascara a little bit longer to dry and “set” than a typical mascara. I always find that I had to apply it what would normally be a little “thicker”. But the mascara did not clump my eye lashes together – they stayed separated, looked longer, and stood out much more WITHOUT me losing lashes or having them break off.
I can only imagine how fabulous someone who has great lashes would look in this mascara after using it for a few weeks. 🙂
Overall impressions – The Physicians Formula is very accessible and probably was packaged most similarly to traditional commercial cosmetics. In fact, I was able to find the Organic Wear CC Cream and the mascara at my local super center Wal-Mart! The accessibility and convenience factor cannot be underestimated – it will be EASY for me to simply switch brands and grab a healthier option when I need a new mascara.
Have you begun making a switch to healthier makeup options? What are you using?
I love tinted moisturizer in the summer, it gives you that glow without all the makeup. Summertime you get sweaty and don’t always want to put on much makeup.
