Try this quick, delicious, healthy snack for your kids or yourself. As I child, I did not care for the glue-like consistency of oatmeal. My little one seemed to share that “ew” opinion when we first tried to get him to eat it for breakfast. So, after cleaning up smooshy oatmeal more times than I care to remember, I decided to try a new tack. Quaker instant works best for this, but you can use plain oats if you prefer.
Ingredients:
Quaker Instant oatmeal
2oz unsweetened apple sauce
As the picture shows, I use the single serve oatmeal pouches and single cups of apple sauce. Empty packet into bowl and mix in half of the oatmeal cup. Stir until thoroughly combined and serve! For the older kids or your own snack, add diced apple bits. If you want to, you can warm in in the microwave for about 15 seconds. To me, it tastes like apple pie and is a perfect single-serve size. Simple, affordable, and satisfying. Yum!
What’s your budget-friendly, kid-friendly go-to snack?

This sounds yummy! You do have one small typo, though.. “Empty packet into bowl and mix in half of the oatmeal cup.” I assume that should be ‘half of the apple sauce cup’.
I look forward to trying this!
