It doesn’t matter what color you lean towards this voting season, there are things I think we can all agree on. I am grateful to live in this country.
I am grateful that I can exercise my right to vote, unlike so many women around the world.
I am grateful that my children have the freedom to have the one-on-one attention provided by a homeschooling education. We are rather non-traditional, but the unique opportunities homeschooling provides is something I’m immensely grateful for.
I am grateful for people like my father, and my brother, who serve in our armed forces. Defending those who are denied their rights, protecting us from threats, and sacrificing not only home, family, and creature comforts, but also the right to expect to live any given day.
I am grateful for my parents who taught me to challenge the status quo, taught me to ask questions, and taught me to teach myself what I wanted to learn instead of expecting someone to give me everything.
I am grateful for my husband who not only loves me and supports me, but enjoys hanging out with me. The rock that he has been in my life is invaluable. His steadfast support has allowed me to take the chances I have recently taken in my life.

Sidney is always there, supporting us behind the scenes.
I am grateful for my children. Their joy in life. Their questions. Their ability to accept others so simply with open acknowledgement without judgement. It’s a stunning thing that we lose as adults – our ability to acknowledge others without judgment of some sort.

The joy of a child is without judgement – only total acceptance.
I am grateful for what I can do for myself. That I can grow food for my family. That I can weave usable products together from my words, encouraging others to think for themselves. Do for themselves.

I am grateful for the love of my friends. Those who hear my late night vents. My fears. My hopes and successes. And through all the madness they love me anyway.
I am grateful for you. My readers. Without you I wouldn’t have this amazing website, or my first book coming out next month. I have big plans for this community based on y’all’s amazing feedback and I’m always so grateful for your thoughts and time. Your attention.
There is a lot to divide our country today, if we allow it. But I think there is more to be grateful for than otherwise, and I am hopeful that you will join me in counting your blessings. What are you grateful for?
