Don’t be intimidated by the title. Making homemade barbeque sauce is a lot simpler than it sounds.
When I first thought about making it on my own, I wasn’t sure where to start. I knew it was tomato based, but that was about it. I took to the internet and found that most people out there are making it by first pouring a bunch of ketchup into a pot. I didn’t want to take that approach. It didn’t really feel “homemade” enough for me. I experimented with elements from several different recipes and added a few of my own ideas. I think it came out pretty good.
With that in mind, here is my recipe for ketchup-less, homemade barbeque sauce.
