Bombay Sapphire® is a dry gin imported from England. If you’re looking for a gin gift, Bombay Sapphire is a good choice, with its clean taste and delectable blue bottle. With a recommended retail price of $24 for 750ml (25 oz), it’s also fairly inexpensive.
Bombay Sapphire — What is it?
Bombay Sapphire is a brand of dry London gin, created with botanicals sourced from all over the world. Its recipe includes: almonds, angelica, cassia bark, coriander, cubeb berries, grains of paradise, lemon peel, licorice, juniper berries, and orris. The distillery is located in Cheshire, England
Bombay Sapphire — What Does it Taste Like?
I held a small cocktail party in order to test out Bombay Sapphire with some cocktail-mixing genius friends. We really couldn’t fault this gin. It is a crisp, smooth tasting gin and is very mixable. We tested several cocktails (including our own inventions, which will never see the light of day).
We also made the classic G & T— gin and tonic, which fared well. Our version involved wiping the glass with a lime wedge, then pouring the gin and tonic over ice. There are different ways of making a G & T. For example, some people leave the lime wedge in the drink, and some prefer to use lemon instead.
Our favourite cocktail was a spin on the Pear and Cinnamon Collins (see my version below). This still worked well without pear nectar, and I also recommend pureed pears as an alternative to fresh pear. The end result was reminiscent of a sweet pie-filling and was really nice when strained once.

Bombay Sapphire — What Else Do You Need to Know?
Bombay Sapphire is available to buy worldwide and is distributed nationwide in the U.S. The Bombay Sapphire website includes information on the drink’s ingredients, historical background, and current events. It also provides recipes for cocktails and contact details for anyone looking for more information. I personally prefer the accessible version of the site, as I found this easier to navigate.
