Website owners are looking every single day for fresh new content to add to their sites. Why shouldn’t you be one of their suppliers? Article writing can be done in your free time to add some extra cash to your pocketbook. So, where do these website owners look for content, and how will they find you?
Making Your Articles Seen
Where do website owners look for the articles you write? Keep in mind, your article writing venture may not put loads of money in the bank in the beginning, but it can bring in extra spending money. If you keep at it, you could build up to part-time or even full-time income.
- Article Directories – there are dozens upon dozens of article directories available on the web that feature articles submitted by freelance writers just like you. When writing for these directories, you can link back to your own site, where potential customers can purchase your articles. You can offer one article at a time or several in a group. Here is what my article writing site looks like. It is a free website, so you wouldn’t be out any money. Of course, there are many free blogging sites you can use you don’t have to choose the one I chose.
- Internet Searches – many site owners will simply do an internet search with the keywords they are looking for in an article or a writer. For instance, if they are looking for an article on pet grooming they may type the words “pet grooming articles,” “pet grooming plr content,” or something similar. (PLR stands for Private Label Rights and is content that others purchase to use as they wish, unless specified otherwise by the writer.) Be sure to use good keywords in your article and on your page (or site) so that potential customers can find you.
- Social and Staffing Platforms – try getting your name out on as many social and staffing sites as possible. Social sites may include sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, and others, while staffing platforms include sites like Elance. Social sites allow you to interact with others while staffing sites often allow you to add your qualifications and samples of your work for customers to look at and possibly hire you to do some article writing for them. You can even bid on jobs you are qualified for.
- Ads – putting an add on many free online sites will help you get recognized. Be sure to read the guidelines before submitting your ad as some sites only allow a certain number of ads at a time or only allow a certain type of ad. One great ad site is Craigslist. Give them a try.
Starting your own site will help you start gaining recognition. The more people hear your name, the more they will come to trust you and your work. Good luck in your article writing venture, and I hope this article has helped. Remember that free time can quickly become money making time if you choose to make it so.
