I got the opportunity to review a new release, inspirational family-friend movie this week, and you’re going to love it. High Strung is an excellent movie that will keep all ages interested and on the edge of their seats. The music and dance will bring not only your imagination and soul alive but those of your children’s as well. High Strung is a great movie about hope and perseverance and where following your dreams and hard work can take you.
The main characters are Ruby and Johnnie, and they bring different talents to the show that viewers will love! Whenever Ruby Adams dances, you will catch yourself holding your breath almost like you were mesmerized by her every move; while Johnnie Blackwell with his violin reaches into your very soul and makes you feel alive. But their talent alone will only get them so far in the very completive world of New York city.
With two different worlds and two different talented artists colliding, Johnnie Blackwell and Ruby Adams must work together to achieve their goals and dreams in New York where only the best of the best get the spot light. Ruby is from of a world of structure and poise while Johnnie is the street smart boy who plays in tunnels to earn a living. Both didn’t fit in or belong but sparks flew between them.
With Johnnie’s threat of being deported at any moment and Ruby’s threat of losing her scholarship, they combined forces to transform their lives together. Their goal is to win the competition against the most talented dancer and musician in Ruby’s school to solve both of their problems. As Johnnie and Ruby prepare for the competition they decide to get help from some unlikely but very talented hip-hop street dance group that goes by the name of The Switch Steps.
Parents of preteens who want an inspirational movie that isn’t filled with tons of cussing and sex scenes will love the family-friendly nature of this movie. I loved how in High Strung there is every type of dance and music; from hip-hop to ballet and everything in between. You will not want to miss out of this high action dance and music filled movie that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat as it did to me. A screener copy of this movie was provided and I was paid for my time to create this post, so I could accurately review this movie for you.
