I am a Celiac, so my first concern once I knew what happened and things had settled down was that the others with Celiac and food allergies will have food available after the disaster. I’ve put in an email to two Celiac support groups near the area affected and just received the following email back:
We now have a location and group who will be coordinating distribution of allergy free, gluten free items to those requiring special foods.
Cherokee Hills Church of Christ
6724 NW 63rd
Oklahoma City, OK 73132

Hopefully this will be helpful, as most food distribution do not have supplies for individuals such as myself.

My sorority , Alpha Omega(Choctaw Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Int’l) and my business (All Star Electric) has some funds we plan to spend in next day or two(not alot but every little bit helps when you have lost everything) but feel like the people in Eastern OK county perhaps are not getting as much assistance and/or the people in Newcastle area, do you have any information for these areas specifically (NOT Red Cross or Salvation Army)
AngEngland says
I am working on connecting with some resources in those areas as well, but I do know that Samaritans purse ministries is set up to help clean and assist in clean up efforts with a mobile unit in northern Texas, plus one in Shawnee area to assist in areas around there, and in Moore to assist surrounding areas around there. I link to them in this post http://www.untrainedhousewife.com/after-the-storm-how-to-help-how-to-heal and include both ways to donate money plus ways to volunteer to help. If anyone has time and desire SP will partner them with a homeowner who has asked for help, give them access to equipment, a trained team lead, etc. Very organized from our experience with them last year after wildfires.m
