This recipe will not only give you a full tummy, but it will give you a burst of energy as well. This Chocolate Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie is chock full of nutrition, so you will feel great whether you choose to eat it morning, noon, or night. And, both of my sometimes picky children gave it two thumbs up, which makes it a winner all the way around.
This smoothie is made with more than one superfood that will help give you that extra kick of energy when you need a little pick-me-up. It can be easily eaten as a meal or a snack. Although some of these ingredients may be unfamiliar to you, they are wonderful to have on hand and incorporate into your diet. They are typically very easy to find in local health food stores or online.
Here’s a little information on the superfoods I included in this recipe if you aren’t familiar with them:

Spirulina Powder – Spirulina is actually a spiral shaped form of blue-green algae. This is superfood has been known to lower blood glucose levels and is wonderful for diabetics. And, it is said that it is great for malnourishment. It includes 18 of the 22 essential fatty acids, beta-carotene, iron, and B-12 vitamins. In it can be found a variety of nutrients including phosphorus, magnesium, selenium, zinc, and calcium. It is important to purchase Spirulina that is organic due to contaminated ocean waters.
