Technology today is moving so quickly my kids already know how to load up the apps on the TV. And ever since they discovered Star Wars LEGO® YouTube videos (Thank you Uncle Ian!) they want to watch YouTube. Um no. YouTube is full of potentially un-family-friendly videos.
So when I found out LEGO® has an official YouTube Channel full of mom-approved videos I was thrilled! There are over 600 videos to choose from specifically for kids 6-11 years old and I put together a personalized playlist on my YouTube account.
Now my kids can watch LEGO® Star Wars™, LEGO® City, and LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™ as well as some cute behind the scenes videos. My son is going to love the one about how they built the model fire truck.
Winter weather keeps us indoors more than it used to so our cozy living room fire and TV vegging days are more frequent. My kids don’t get to watch a lot of television but when they do we are selective with what they get to see. The ability to plug these videos into a parent-approved playlist will be a lifesaver.
And of course, being on YouTube they can access the LEGO® YouTube channel from my iPad, Kindle or laptop as well. When Vivian was sick this week you better believe that ability was a blessing!
There is a lot of content on web; creating a playlist on the Official LEGO® Channel is a great way to ensure your kids are entertained and watching videos you can feel good about.
