It is stunning to me how quickly my kids achieve their milestones. Evan and Brianna are reading Level 2 readers now. Micah can stay diligent to finish his assigned chores (trust me – this is a huge milestone). Adam is finally talking. And Vivian? Where do I start.
This girl is truly living up to her name! Her name means “Lively” or “Full of Life” and maybe that was my first mistake. She was crawling well by 5 months and walking by 9 months and she hasn’t slowed down!
This month she’s talking – almost as well as Adam. Please, thank you, down, out, uh oh, Gracie (yes, she calls the dog by name), a dozens of others. Even two and three word sentences are forming.
The other thing we’re seeing more of is her sense of humor and delight in games and action songs. She will ask for her favorites by single works and motions. Toe wiggles and “p’ease piggies” = “I want to play This Little Piggy, please.” Waving a #1 finger in the air with a simple “ight” means she wants to sing This Little Light of Mine. Other favorite active songs include The Claw, Happy and You Know It, and Head and Shoulders.
She also beginning to develop poddy awareness so I think we’ll be entering poddy training soon. I mean when she strips off her own diaper and throws it away? It’s time to think about getting started! LOL!
Huggies will make it easier to poddy train with their Little Mover’s Slip On Diapers. Not only will they STAY ON my active baby, but they will be easy to remove when seconds make the difference between success and failure! Not to mention the fact that she likes them because they are “big girl”.
It’s bittersweet to see her reaching these milestones. And the simple moments that show her amazing personality developing. But she’s my baby! She’s starting to not look like a baby anymore and there’s a little part of me that misses that.
What are some of your favorite milestones to see your kids achieve? Did you experience that moment of realization that your baby wasn’t really a “baby” anymore?
