Choosing the right music for toddlers is important. It should be upbeat and yet not too loud or jarring, the words must be suited for a preschooler or toddler and their should be a rhythm to the songs. I was really happy to review Justin Roberts’s latest CD, titled Jungle Gym. It has everything that a parent looks for when picking music for a toddler or young child.
Justin Roberts’s Music for Toddlers Encourages Outdoor Play and Childhood Fun
The songs in Jungle Gym are all happy, cheerful songs that will bring a smile to any toddler’s face and have him or her swaying to the music. Most importantly, the songs encourage kids of all ages to go out and play, to enjoy having fun playing old favorites like duck, duck, goose, and nurture their natural curiosity and exuberance while dealing with important moments of childhood – new haircuts, a broken arm, getting lost and school fire drills. I know I will be playing New Haircut for my toddler each time I have to take her for a trim.
Jungle Gym Offers Fun, Upbeat Music for Toddlers and Preschoolers
While toddlers may not really understand the words or lyrics, they will surely enjoy the catchy and fun beats and rhythms that every song offers. Older kids will enjoy singing along with Justin as he explores cardboard cartons, a new haircut, getting lost and other memorable and fun moments that make up childhood. My daughter loved listening to the tracks and shaking her little head and feet to the rhythm. Children’s music that is fun, interesting and encourages healthy habits is a win-win for parents and kids.
About Justin Roberts – the Family Music Star
Justin Roberts is one of the most popular children’s recording artists and his earlier CDs, such as Pop Fly, Meltdown and Not Naptime have received great critical and popular acclaim. WXPN Radio’s Kathy O’Connell was quoted in USA Today, saying that Justin Roberts is “the Paul McCartney of children’s music,” and People magazine calls the music “on-your-feet fun and laugh-out-loud funny.” Jungle Gym will be available nationwide on June 8th from Carpet Square Records (Sony/RED distribution). As parents, it is important that we choose the right kind of music for toddlers and young children, since they are impressionable and can easily pick up undesirable language or behavior from a seemingly innocuous CD. Justin Roberts’s music is exactly what kids need from music – healthy fun and wholesome learning.
I completely recommend Jungle Gym for parents looking to expose their kids to healthy, entertaining music other than rhymes and nursery songs. Toddlers and older kids, alike, will enjoy all 12 happy and fun songs that make up Jungle Gym.
