I was on-air with KXII again this morning to share some of my favorite gift ideas for modern twists on classic Valentine’s Day ideas and to help guys pick something out. Don’t get me wrong, we love the classic chocolate and roses (most of us anyway), but when you want to get a new gift, here are some tips.
Start off with these adorable personalized coupon books and set your wife up with a personal spa in-home, a trip to her favorite store, an errand-free day, or a shopping spree. Then, pick up what you’ll need to make her wishes come true.
Create A Relaxing Home Spa Environment
Gift certificates to massage therapist or spa is a great idea, but you can go a long way towards creating a relaxing spa environment right at home, too!
Candles are a must, of course, and don’t skimp – put them around the bathtub, in the bedroom, etc. I showed a fresh spring scent by Colonial Candle of lemongrass and cilantro, but they have a vast myriad of color and scent options to choose from. I also love the Vanilla Sensual candle from Fragrancenet, which has an 80 hr burn time.
Don’t forget luxurious bath products like these amazing bath bombs from Lush Cosmestics, or the whipped Sugar Souffle Scrubs by Lalicious.
Top it off with a massage using one of these scented organic massage oils from SheaMoisture! Of course you’ll have to provide the muscle-relaxing man power yourself, although you can cheat with one the Wahl home massage units like this hot and cold therapy massager. Note – this is only a good gift if you use it. *grin*
Finish the evening off with a glass of her favorite wine and include a set of EssenTiles in a topic she will love – I thought the sayings on the book club set were cute and witty but there are many to choose from and you can personalize them. Anything that reuses scrabble tiles so creatively is a win in my book!
Support Her Hobbies and Daily Routines With Luxury Touches
Is she a photographer? Check out one of these Epiphanie camera bags. Does she travel? Look for bags and purses with fun and funky fabrics like the rolling luggage piece (named Audrey) and matching jewelry roll (called Jewel, of course) from Gigi Hill.
Fashion Updates for Busy Moms
While it is probably not a good idea to buy certain wardrobe items for your wife or loved one (a minefield of potential deadly options) some fashion accessories are a sure hit! Look for basic must-haves in a luxurious cut or material like these Adea pieces – the rich Italian fabric makes even simple cut clothes a luxury. Or, Eco-friendly repurposed bag like the options from BagInspirations – I showed the Stella tablet-friendly bag on air.
And of course – jewelry and fashion accessories are a no brainer…but you have to think fashion and luxury and love! Like these high-fashion sunglasses from Solstice Sunglasses which have the hottest trends of the season including jewel tones, textured frames, and my favorites – the red Gucci’s. I know…what can I say!?
Jewelry Must-Haves for Moms
When it comes to jewelry handmade and thoughtful rule the day with pieces like this StudioJewel heart pendant – handmade from 100% recycled metals, or this simple shaped ring from Blessed Charm that says sweetly “Loved”. Another favorite is the Burghesa Morse-code necklace and bracelet – mine say “I love you” but you can custom order a fun message of your own.
