Let me be honest – I am NOT a girlie-girl. I actually have more fun playing football with my husband and kids than primping in front of the mirror.
However, that doesn’t mean I want to look like an old, frumpy mother of three. So, I reluctantly admit that I enjoyed reading the book “How Not to Look Old” by Charla Krupp.
It had enough humor and spice to keep my interest, and the tips were practical – some so easy to implement I’ve already made a few choice beauty changes and like the difference.
My favorite sections were the best buy sections where she highlighted beauty products that actually work and gives the exact price of each so I can make a decision of what will fit into my budget.
The photographs are priceless, some extremely humorous, and some embarrassingly familiar! Wait! That looks like my mirror? Is that me? No – I would never look like that. Or would I?
So to share the young and hip vibes with the rest of my awesome friends (that would be you), I am having a giveaway. You can win your own copy of this awesome book – enter by November 30, 2008 11:59pm Central Time. 🙂

I’d like to enter. I have one suggestion for low-maintenance women who don’t like wearing foundation but want even-looking skin – Lush’s Enzymion moisturiser. It soaks up the oils so the skin looks matte. Great stuff.
I know this might be a stretch, but sleep. I always look and feel younger when I’ve gotten enough sleep. Or did you mean realistic beauty tips?

A very quick morning pick-me-up that puts the pink in my cheeks for the rest of the day is a quick swipe over my whole face with an ice cube! It isn’t the most comfortable idea, but I got used to it and am amazed at how much better I look *and* feel in a matter of seconds. I’m allergic to every make-up I’ve tried and am afraid to try any more, but this gives me plenty of color. The price is right, too!
Carnosine, a supplement works well. It actually slows down aging among many other beneficial mechanisms of action. The downside is that it’s somewhat pricey, but it does more than just make you look younger.
When I tried carnosine for my CFS/ME, in the middle of the winter, in just two weeks the skin in my face went from zombie-looking grayish white to nicely rosy.
A highlighting pen applied below dark undereye circles and on dark areas like smile lines is an easy fix to look younger!
Please enter me in the giveaway.I know I am going to come off sounding a bit cheezy ,but my pick me up all day long are my two toddlers. No matter how frumpy, tired, non matching,no makeup face I am (I am the mother of 4 boys) they always tell me I am pretty. My 3 yr old says,”Mommy,I love you big,you are so so pretty.”And my 4 yr chimes right in behind him.And I promise,no amount of makeup ,manicures or massages make me feel more beautiful than the words and adoration of my boys.Oh,and a little bit of mascara and cherry chapstick too!
Please, I’d like to enter also.
I don’t ha ve much advice on what you can do to look younger. I need all the advice/help I can get.
Hi. I use a simple cream to moisturize. Vitamin E is simple yet very effective for dry skin.
