So many times, I get the question, “OK I grew it, now what?” or “Can anyone tell me what this item in my CSA box is and what I’m supposed to do with it?” My goal with Untrained Housewife, as you know, is to gather all the lost little tidbits of wisdom from times past.
This recipe series will negate that “What now?” feeling and make it easy for you to enjoy eating fresh, delicious whole foods – whether you grew them yourself or picked them up from your local grower.
All the recipes in the series will fit the following:
- 1. Include a fruit, vegetable or herb that could be easily grown in a typical backyard.
- 2. Be tasty and have a something special to it (not just a lettuce + tomato = salad recipe).
- 3. Be reasonable to prepare. No stove-slaves here!
