Forget buying twenty Sunday papers! There are plenty of ways to get coupons for free, and all it involves is a little of your time and creativity.
Get Coupons from the Sunday Paper
I know I just said you don’t need to buy twenty copies for yourself, and that’s true, although there are deals to be had on newspaper subscriptions. Try asking your neighbors, family and friends if they will save the inserts for you (if they don’t use them, of course). You can also look through your public newspaper recycling bin (check your local laws to verify this is legal), which should be clean if it is only for paper. It may be a bit embarrassing at first, so this option is definitely based on personal preference! This was one of the best ways for me to get coupons when we lived in a larger city.
Find Coupons Online
There are many coupon websites and databases where you can find the latest coupons. Check out www.couponmom.com for links to printable grocery and restaurant coupons. Coupon manufacturer’s websites like www.redplum.com and www.coupons.com offer a variety of printables as well.
Many store brands offer grocery coupons on their websites. The Our Family brand, sold in many stores nationwide, offers a variety of printable coupons that are usually mentioned in the weekly grocery ads so you can easily pair them with sale items.
Join Product Websites to Receive Member Only Coupons
No matter what products you are interested in, rest assured there are coupons to be found. By signing up for newsletters from your favorite companies, you can receive member only coupons and discounts via e-mail. It’s advisable to set up a separate account exclusively for these e-mail offers so you aren’t bothered by the spam that may follow. It’s easy to unsubscribe from these company newsletters at any time by scrolling to the bottom of most any e-mail you receive.
Sign Up for Free Samples and Receive Coupons in the Mail
Whenever I have the opportunity, I sign up for free samples of products I enjoy and know I can use. Samples typically come with coupons and paired with a sale or stacked with a store coupon, I can get a great deal. So far I haven’t found that my junk mail has increased after requesting samples from various companies. You can find out the current samples that are being offered on websites such as Walmart.com and StartSampling.com, which offers a Sample Showcase box several times a year. The P&G Everyday Solutions website frequently offers free samples and coupon booklets to members.
Check Your Receipts for Coupons
Finding coupons may be as easy as checking the back of your receipts. Many local grocery stores offer coupons off gas and food coupons for other local establishments. Just clip and save! You can also sign up for store loyalty programs at grocery and drug stores which often result in coupons printed at the bottom of your receipt. In addition, many national stores are now printing out coupons at the register based on your buying habits.
With a small amount of effort and time you can easily get coupons for free, providing you and your family with the savings you need.
