It’s fall! That means perfect weather for family fun around here. Here are the four best activities we love at our house.
1. Hiking – We love geocaching with our kids, walking through the woods checking the feeder and searching for tracks (I know, right?), and generally just hiking as a family. Sometimes, at the ranch, Vivian stays with her grandma at the house, otherwise she comes with us all the time. It’s a great whole-family activity.
2. Pumpkins – We do our pumpkins a little earlier than two-days-before-Halloween. Except I don’t do REAL pumpkins very often because they turn into zombie mush. This year, we did glass globe pumpkins that light-up at night, and we did these Jack O Lantern containers with plants inside.
3. Leaf Piles – Yes, it’s a hassle. But, oh my gosh, the fun. And I’m learning that half of parenting is never saying no to harmless fun if you can possibly help it. So rake up an afternoon, jump around in the lawn, and (of course) snap some pics!
4. Fall Garden! – Not too late to put some pretties in the ground. Garlic is a family favorite. Other cool-season plants includes Broccoli, Swiss Chard, etc.
It’s a great season or family togetherness. Playing together in a leaf pile, exercising together on a long, rambly walk, or working together in the veggie patch. What is your favorite fall activity?

Nice! We love geocashing, too. Well, more me than the rest of the family. ha ha
