Ranch dressing mix can easily be made at home with just a few ingredients. It’s much cheaper and a better alternative to the packets from the grocery store, which can often be full of chemicals, preservatives and other unwanted fillers.
Keep this mix on hand not only for making ranch dressing, but also for seasoning chicken and potatoes or other vegetables.
Ingredients:
16 saltine crackers
½ c. dried parsley
2 Tbl. onion powder
2 Tbl. garlic powder
1 tsp. pepper
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a mini food chopper or blender and process until powdery.
To use: Using a whisk, mix together 2 Tablespoons ranch dressing mix, ¾ cup milk or buttermilk and 1 cup of mayonnaise until smooth. Mix well and chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Ranch dressing mix can be stored in an air-tight container, in a cool, dry place for several months.
