Labeling is an important thing for moms, especially organizing freaks like myself. Mabel’s Labels have definitely helped organize my kids sippy cups, school items, and my moving life. As a military family we move at least every 2-3 years. When I received my sample set in the mail from the company, I was so excited that I started sticking labels on bins and boxes right away. We keep huge plastic tubs instead of using cardboard boxes, and it’s funny how certain items just “want” to be in their designated tubs. Mabel’s Labels is helping me keep every tub organized with its rightful contents.
But why buy labels when you can make them, you ask? I would actually urge you to make your own label for a sippy cup before you try this system. Make it as pretty as you can, get creative with polka dots, swirls, animals etc. Once the label is firmly in place and you dont think you can love it any more, wash the cup. Then put it through the dishwasher. Then give it to a kid with yogurt hands and wash it again. Then once it starts to slough off and leave that sticky residue behind, curse the day I was born as you try to scrape the stickiness off the cup. If you want to torture yourself more, try this project on a spoon.
Mabel’s Labels are waterproof and UV-resistant. I stuck a few labels onto cups, tupperware and tubs and did a water test. I washed the cups and tupperware a total of ten times. I then had my two and three year old boys go to town on the tubs with a hose and water guns. Their “mission” was to get the labels off. Mission failed!
Not only are the labels good for kids’ stuff, they are great for household items as well. The combo pack that I was provided with came with rice, flour, flax seed, pancake mix, etc that I created. Now I don’t have to dip my finger into an unlabeled glass container and hope it’s salt or sugar. It’s so much more sanitary to know what’s inside than to stick my hands inside. Mabel’s Labels also has skinny labels that can be placed on smaller items like spoons, handles, and small toys. A pack of 80 is only $18.50. No more spoon confusion, and no more sticky spoons! This is perfect for large families or for daycare owners.
The labels speak, or stick, for themselves. They are tough, convenient, and pretty. Just take a look at the Label Out Loud designs . Save some time and let the professionals do it. Even though it seems like a mundane enough task, it is worth your time and sanity to have a good set of labels developed and sent to you. If you want an assortment of labels, choose the Big Combo Pack, which includes a pack of 45 Sticky Labels, 50 Iron-Ons or 75 Tag Mates™, 24 Shoe Labels, 2 Bag Tags.
