With Micah’s determination to have a tractor party I decided to find a treat that would be in keeping with the theme. I’d seen a picture on pinterest of a chocolate pretzel heap that was called a haystack but it bothered me that they were covered in chocolate. I decided to create my own version that would be more brown and the right color for a pile of hay. Here’s what I created:
Marshmallow Peanut Butter Pretzel Treats
- 2, 10 oz bags of marshmallows
- 1 stick of butter
- 1 Cup peanut butter
- 1 bag of pretzels
Melt the butter and marshmallows in a sauce pan until everything is deliciously ooey gooey.
Then make it even butter by adding a cup of peanut butter. Or you can measure it like I did by just plopping in a bunch of peanut butter until it looks good. Stir everything over medium heat until it’s all mixed together.
Pour the mixture over a bag of pretzels in a large mixing bowl.
Stir the marshmallow mix in so that all the pretzels are coated. This was so sticky…incredibly sticky. Just keep mixing it around until everything is coated.
Heap a spoonful of pretzels in a pile on waxed paper and chill in the fridge until they are solidified. Now devour.
We served ours in a tractor for the tractor party we had for Micah. Get it? Tractor. Haystacks.
So cute. I have to admit that I was a little proud of myself for this one and my kids loved them. (Confession: The grown-ups loved them too.)

My boys would love these. They are super cute and I totally love the haystacks in the tractor idea! Very creative. 🙂
