When I was a young teen my family had the opportunity to take a huge family vacation. I knew it was special, but I didn’t realize at the time just HOW incredible, to be able to pack up your family and go RV’ing across the the United States for 7 weeks. Amazing. Grand Canyon, Redwoods, Niagara Falls, Ellis Island….I think we hit them all. It felt like it.
Now I’m a mother and I look at my four kids and wonder what their memories will be. Will they remember campfires? Fishing trips? Stunning vistas of God’s amazing creation? One of the things I love so much about the United States is the incredible diversity. High mountains and deserts, forests and flood plains – the beauty of the Lord is surely poured out on this land.
I think the top ten places for me to take my family on vacation in the next few years would have to include:
- The Creation Museum
- Yellowstone National Park
- Grand Canyon
- Hawaii (hey – I can dream right?)
- Mount Saint Helen’s National Park (specifically the Ape Cave which was formed not by water, but by a lava tube after the eruption.
- The San Diego Zoo
- Grand Teton National Park
- Mount Ranier National Park
- DisneyWorld (who can resist right?)
- Alaska (One of only four states I’ve not yet visited. I think a whale watching cruise would be ideal.)
What is your family vacation dream? I think anything that gets us together, out in nature and enjoying what the Lord has created is worth adding to the list!
Don’t forget to enter the “Do What You Love” Sweepstakes, for a chance to win your own ultimate family vacation. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

thanks for this post Angela, you reminded me that there are tons of amazing things to see in the U.S. too. Outlook on moving back to the states is improving =)
Martha's Vineyard vacation says
Our family loves Martha’s Vineyard for vacations. It’s an island escape that’s close to the northeast and can be done on a medium budget (they have a campground).
