Who doesn’t like mozzarella sticks? Crunchy on the outside, hot and cheesy on the inside, they’re my favorite appetizer. But I can’t always make it to an Applebee’s when I need my fix. That’s why I was excited to try Farm Rich Cheese Sticks. And I have to say I was impressed! Here’s my review along with some party ideas that include appetizers from the Farm Rich family.
What I Loved About Farm Rich Cheese Sticks
One thing I loved was that the Farm Rich mozzarella sticks seemed like a good value for the money. When you consider that just a few mozza sticks at your local Applebee’s costs $6.99, the price of approximate five dollars for a bag of 28 is extremely reasonable. They cook up in a conventional oven in 8 to 10 minutes and can also be deep-fried (I chose the oven route). We actually cooked them for a couple extra minutes and found that the cheese was better melted that way. They were super-tasty! The cheese was nice and stringy; a must for mozzarella sticks, and the outside was crunchy and flavorful. My family enjoyed eating them with some marinara sauce for dipping as a side to our meals. I’ve had mozzarella sticks from the store before and the Farm Rich brand far exceeded them all.
Other Appetizers from Farm Rich
Farm Rich features several types of appetizers as well as sandwiches, all found in the frozen food section of your local grocery store. Their stuffed peppers and mushrooms would be a great addition to the food spread at your next party. And because they bake up in mere minutes and stay nice and hot, you don’t have to spend so much time in the kitchen. They also have little meatballs that would be great warmed with some homemade barbeque sauce in a little crock pot.
Using Farm Rich and Other Snacks for an Appetizer Party
When we get together with friends, we like to use appetizers instead of main dishes. Everyone loves to sample a variety of snacks (both healthy and not-so-healthy!) as a way to mix up the usual pot-luck. We even did this last Christmas Eve with my family!
Along with the simplicity of Farm Rich Appetizers, there are plenty of easy appetizers that take just a few minutes to whip up in the kitchen. Cheese and crackers are a staple that can be jazzed up by using several different types of cheese, some spicy like pepper jack or mild like provolone.
Cheese dip with chips is also a classic and can be made healthier by using vegetables and low-fat ingredients, like this simple Blue Cheese Dip Recipe from the Food Network. A tasty fruit dip with seasonal fruit is always a hit. One unique recipe I like is Kraft’s Sweet Fruit Dip.
Most appetizers shouldn’t be eaten as a main dish or in large quantities due to their high fat and calorie content. But the Farm Rich mozzarella sticks are the perfect way to treat yourself or others in those moments that call for a bit of indulgence.
These are really good. My husband just got a Fry Daddy and these were one of the first things he fried.
Ooh.. These do sound good.. Pity, we don’t get them here.. We do get McCain and they’re not bad either.. Perfect for instant cocktail snacks.
