A natural yoghurt facial mask, a homemade hair treatment and a quick home remedy for tired and puffy eyes: these simple homemade beauty treatments are easy to do.
A Quick Home Remedy for Puffy Eyes
A quick and easy home remedy for puffy or tired eyes is chamomile tea. The easiest way to use it is to make a cup of chamomile tea using two tea bags. Remove the bags from the tea and let them cool down, and apply the cool tea bags over your (closed) eyes as you lie down for around ten minutes. And don’t waste the tea, drink it: chamomile tea is soothing for the digestive system and calming for the nerves. Another good home remedy for puffy and tired eyes is cucumber. Cut two slices of cucumber (use a cold cucumber straight from the fridge if you can), place the slices over your eyes and lie down to relax for ten to fifteen minutes.
Make Your Own Natural Yoghurt Face Mask
According to world-famous aromatherapist Patricia Davis in her Aromatherapy: An A-Z, natural live yoghurt is rejuvenating and softening to the skin and has a mild bleaching effect. Live natural yoghurt can be used to create simple facial masks that are suitable for all skin types. A bit of honey can be mixed to the yoghurt before applying it carefully on the face and the neck. Once you’ve applied the yoghurt, lie down and relax. Leave the yoghurt on the skin for at least 10 minutes before removing your natural facial mask.
An Easy Homemade Hair Treatment With Olive Oil
Massage some olive oil into your hair and scalp for an easy and nourishing homemade hair treatment. For best results, warm up the oil a little bit before using it: either warm it up in a microwave or pour the oil into a bowl and place the bowl in some hot water for a few minutes. Then massage the warm oil into your hair and your scalp.
After a thorough hair massage, wrap your hair into cling film or plastic and then cover your hair again with a towel. You can leave the oil on for an hour or even two before washing it out. Jojoba oil and coconut oil are good alternatives to olive oil. And don’t be afraid to use a lot of oil. In India, women have traditionally used coconut oil instead of hair conditioner, and perhaps for this reason so many Indian women have such shiny, long and visibly healthy hair.
