The Superbowl is upon us, and what better time to try out all of the yummy snacks you been eyeballing? It doesn’t have to be a guilt (or antacid) inducing affair, either. Check out these yummy and basically-good-for-you treats when you’re making your menu for the weekend.
Dip it up!
Nothing is more suited to a football game than chips and dip. It’s like they were made for each other. Spice it up with your own fresh, homemade salsa, simple to make and difficult to keep in stock. Or, take the smoother route with a creamy dill dip, good for crackers or veggies…or maybe potato chips. Probably potato chips.
Class it up!
Want to add a bit more pizazz to your watch party? Maybe you just need a bit of real food to balance out the wings and pizza your buddies are bringing. These stuffed eggplant rolls are a surprising and delicious treat to throw into the mix. Shhh…don’t tell them it’s good for you.
Grab it up!
Finger foods are a must, and you can’t ignore the kids (or kids at heart) hanging around the snack bar. Some DIY fruit snacks or chocolate coconut popcorn will be for-sure crowd pleasers as you huddle up and cheer for your favorite team.
Sweeten it up!
OK, OK, I promised healthy stuff, but you really can’t pass up the opportunity to make something decadent for a crowd. Otherwise, you might make it just for yourself, and then the slices would need to be much bigger. There just wouldn’t be any other option. So if you’re looking to satisfy a 4th quarter sweet tooth, pull this Ice Cream Cake out of the freezer and let the fans – happy or sad – dig in.
Whatever your menu, don’t forget to keep your food safe as you cheer and snack and cheer some more. This quick video has some great tips for food safety this Sunday:
